Currently

Whoa...it can't possibly be time for the June Currently!  It seems like just yesterday that I missed the May Currently!  Well even though I am beyond busy and overwhelmed I couldn't let 2 months go by with out participating in Farley's linky! So without further delay here is my Currently! 

Listening: My hubby has decided that it is time to introduce our kiddos to Star Wars so we are starting with the 4th or 1st movie depending on how you number them!  My 10 year old loves it....my 6 year old is not so sure!

Loving:  I am so glad that summer is almost here and I will get to spend some more time with my kiddos....only 9 days to go! (We won't talk about the fact that I am teaching summer school)

Thinking: My summer to-do list is LONG but I can't wait to get started...hoping I will be motivated to get it done.

Wanting: To get our house on the market SOON so we can hopefully sell it and move over the summer. Our kiddos go to school about 25 minutes from where we live now so it will be great to FINALLY live in the same community they go to school in!

Needing:  More hours in the day.....I still have report cards, volunteer gifts, a slide show and more to get done!! AHHHH!

3 Vacay Essentials: Books to read just for fun...because who has time to do that during the school year???, My iPad so I can blog stalk of course and my flip flops because I live in Wisconsin and our time in flip flops is short so you have to make the most of it! 

Hoping to be back soon to tell you the story of my field trip debacle from last week and to share a cute beachy themed art project (from the same field trip).

Currently

Ughh I am late to the Currently party again, but better late than never I hope!  If you haven't already head on over to Farley's blog and link up, it is a fun one! My goal for next month is to make it on time! 

So here goes....

Listening - my own kiddo are watch some of Despicable Me before bed (I love that movie), so that is playing in the background.  OK so now that I am actually finishing this the kiddos are long in bed and I am listening to The Bible series on History...but I am too lazy to go back and change it.

Loving - I am getting ready for conferences next week so I have been redoing some running records on my lowest readers....and I am sooooo happy with how well they are doing! Some of them still have some work to do on comprehension but we will get there!

Thinking - I am going to be busy busy at work this week doing the Dr. stuff and testing for conferences. And of course it is also a super busy week with stuff after school.  A meeting on Monday about the human growth and development curriculum for my son's 4th grade class, a doctor's appointment for me Wednesday, and Thursday a big family night at my school and a big family night at my kiddos school (of course they are on the same night at the same time!)

Wanting - I really want to get to work on some ideas I have for spring for my classroom and TpT I just can't seem to squeeze it in right now!

Needing -  I am in charge of my teams 2 week fairy tale unit that we are doing right after spring break....so I need to get my backside in gear and find and make some good stuff for us.  If you know of anything good I would love to hear about it!

Like - I like the sand and can't wait for our trip to Florida at the end of the month!

Love - The sun...it was actually out today and even though it wasn't that warm it still felt like a taste of spring.

Hate - The snow...I am really tired of the snow and cold and driving in it. I really hope it doesn't snow this week like they say it is going to!

Currently and Freebie

I know I am a little late linking up for the Farley for the February Currently, but today was CRAZY!!!  It was my son's last pinewood derby race and my hubby has been OBSESSED with learning how to build the best car (no really he has spent 100's of hours researching, prototyping, and networking).  Then he also helped some other boys in his den with their cars so he was STRESSED out about them all doing well.  Luckily everyone did great but it was a LOOOONG day!

But anyway here is my currently!  I am the only one left up so I have control of the t.v. (which never happens)! I should be doing report cards but I keep putting them off!! Actually I just have comments left to do.  I will have to finish those tomorrow after I am done shopping the big TpT sale! And my pet peeve is all about people leaving stuff out for other to clean up, whether it is my students, my kids, my hubby it seems to happen all the time!!

I am also late linking up with Freebielicious for Fabulicious Freebies on the First, but I wanted to share our fun Pirate freebies from our Pirate unit last week, there are 2 of them! 

 We really want to do an art project but didn't want to do people pirates so we decided to do Owl Pirates instead!  We made them as a glyph and the kids loved them! You can click on the picture below to take you to the google doc with the patterns for the Owl Pirate.  You can either copy them onto construction paper or make tracers. If you want to see more pics of these owls I blogged about them here.

I also created a Pirate Story Map to use with my kiddos this week.  You can pick any pirate story to use it with.  We used it after we read How I Became a Pirate.  We also got to see the play How I Became a Pirate at a local theater on Friday.  It was great (as long as we don't talk about the student who was fooling around in his chair and fell off and hit his head on the chair in front of him, who was occupied by a parent chaperone of course!)!
